I try to present questions in a more understandable way, either through easier-to-grasp concepts or by utilising concepts from previous lessons that are more familiar. I want students to come up with solutions themselves, perhaps encouraging them with some light hints, rather than simply giving them the correct answer. This allows them to develop and practice their method of solving problems, rather than having them rely on others to spoon-feed them the solution.

My tutoring approach is very much student-centred, this means that I am very adaptable to the needs of a student. However, my core philosophy is rooted in interaction between myself and the student - this includes conversational learning as well as student-led teaching. I also make an effort to get to know my students learning styles, so when they get stuck I know what tools I can use to help them. Whether that be visual aids, hands-on activities, or just a discussion. I also find review and reflection very impactful when it comes to learning which I implement reviews at the beginning and end of every session.

When it comes to teaching, my methodology revolves around creating an engaging and supportive learning environment. I believe that the best way to connect with students is by making learning fun and relatable, using real-world examples and interactive techniques. I explain complex topics by using the basic building blocks of understanding that my students already have. This allows me to demystify complex subjects by using my students' current knowledge as a foundation. I employ a variety of teaching methods such as visual aids, hands-on activities, and multimedia resources to cater to different learning styles. By actively listening to my students and understanding their unique needs, I customize my approach, whether it's through one-on-one sessions, group discussions, or personalized learning plans. During a typical session, I start by reviewing previous material and addressing any questions. I then introduce new concepts through a mix of direct instruction, collaborative exercises, and practical applications. My goal is to ensure that each student feels confident and empowered to succeed, fostering a lifelong love of learning.

Growing up with such a vast diversity of people, I understood the significance of individuality, whether it is students' characters, or learning methods, every aspect of a student contributes tremendously to their understanding, highlighting the importance of having a tailor-made tutoring program. Fundamentally, I am a big believer in active learning such as explaining concepts in students' own words, drawing mind maps and diagrams, being able to answer questions or applying knowledge to real-life scenarios. I am strongly convinced that this is the most effective way of learning, as well as the most meaningful approach as application of knowledge is what makes education worthwhile. From my previous tutoring experience, I have observed the interconnection between short term and long term memory, through practicing the method of review, revise and repeat, allowing students to vividly engrave knowledge for not only test taking but more so lifelong learning.

To me, the key to learning lies in two things; a comprehension of the question and an understanding of its applications. Often students lack the full picture given that they take formulae for granted without fully understanding their applications, leading to a loss of the former. Otherwise, they are not accustomed to algebraic manipulation or efficient problem-solving methods, leading to a loss of the latter. As a way to compensate for both, I help students develop a hands-on learning approach by providing a comprehensive overview of course content followed by detailed applications through common and typical exam-style questions. By demonstrating logical thought processes and problem-solving techniques, I wish to empower students with a confidence and strong grasp of course content.

I believe that engaging with students on a personal level, building a deep connection, and using that familiarity to strive for growth is essential. The answers will always be there - but a student's willingness or motivation to learn might not. As such, I aim to assist all students from the formulaic, memorization aspect of education to the mental fluidity and accountability that one builds through their journey. I truly emphasise the success of the students above all else, as I believe that is the most important.

My tutoring approach changes depending on the student. There is no single approach to teaching every student, as they all think differently. However, something important that I keep in mind while tutoring is that I should be a supplement to the actual teacher of the course. My ultimate goal while tutoring is to help my student achieve independence and eventually be able to keep up with the course easily without me. Most student's issues arise with foundational material that is not covered in class and understanding of their teacher. I first try to figure out my students' way of thinking to be able to help them. Once we have established this and they are more comfortable with their current work, I begin to help them build a solid base of fundamental knowledge so that they will be able to learn their course material comfortably without me as soon as possible. If the student is currently not taking a class and I have the primary responsibility of teaching, I make sure to reduce memorization as much as possible. Instead, I emphasize understanding to ensure long-term success for the student.

I'm committed to fostering a deep understanding of the material rather than relying on memorization. I emphasize developing healthy habits study early on, helping students avoid bad practices. My approach involves tailoring explanations to each student's interests—like relating physics concepts to sports they play—to make learning relatable and engaging. I maintain a patient and non-judgmental environment, ensuring students feel comfortable asking questions. Visual aids are a key part of my teaching, as they can clarify complex ideas. My sessions are interactive and adaptive, focusing on building confidence and a genuine grasp of the subject matter. I love the applied side of learning and incorporate real-world examples to make abstract concepts tangible and more useful. I also enjoy relating concepts together to help students see connections in the subject more easily, enhancing their overall understanding.

Having myself experienced a variety of tutors throughout my academic journey, I know first hand the needs of students who seek tutoring. I believe the most valued point as a tutor is to have a clear understanding of the area of trouble and follow different approach depending on areas of knowledge. In maths, I believe it is important to develop a full proof method that can apply to any problem while examining certain special cases. In physics and Chemistry as well as Economics, it is important for problem solving to understand the full mechanics of a concept so that it can be applied in any scenario.

I begin by teaching the lesson that the student didn’t fully understand, making sure to clarify any confusing concepts. Afterward, I create a brief revision sheet to reinforce the material. I then challenge the student with exercises at different levels of difficulty to gauge their understanding and push their abilities. I also leave them with some independent work to complete at home, allowing them to practice on their own. Lastly, I make sure to communicate with the parents, keeping them updated on the student’s progress and highlighting any areas that may need extra attention.

I understand that every student has their own learning style, and I do my best to adapt and teach everyone in a way that suits them. I've always been of the belief that a good tutor or teacher doesn't just have sufficient knowledge of the subject, but also knows how to teach in an engaging way, and I try to make my lessons as interesting as possible.

My tutoring philosophy centers on creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable to express their ideas and challenges. I begin each session by assessing the student's current understanding and identifying specific areas for improvement. I employ a variety of teaching techniques, including interactive problem-solving, visual aids, and real-world applications, to make complex concepts more accessible. By customizing my approach to align with each student's unique learning style—whether they are visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learners—I ensure that the material resonates with them. During a typical session, I encourage active participation through discussions and questions, guiding students to develop critical thinking skills. I also incorporate regular feedback and assessments to track progress and adjust our learning objectives as needed, fostering a collaborative and dynamic tutoring experience.

My tutoring approach is centered on providing personalized, student-centered support. I believe each learner has unique strengths, challenges, and learning preferences, so I tailor my methods accordingly. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I work closely with students to deeply understand their goals, assess their current knowledge and skills, and develop customized strategies to help them achieve their objectives.

In general, my aim is to make learning both interesting and rigorous for students so they can simultaneously achieve the results they want while also developing a curiosity for the subject. I enjoy getting to know my students as individuals and learners so I can support them to the best of my ability by tailoring my teaching approach to their unique needs. In a typical session, I will try to address any gaps in their current knowledge of the course material using both school-provided and private resources, before returning to reinforce those concepts at a later session.

I believe that any subject can be interesting to all students. There is always something to be learned from a problem. I like to make sure students are understanding the core concepts of each topic, which is fun to learn if presented in a captivating manner. I have students make connections between subjects, which helps them see the bigger picture in how a topic can be applied in real life.

I believe in a balanced approach between covering concepts and guided practice. I split my lessons into two, covering theory in the first portion and addressing student queries. In the second portion, I go through topical problems to test my student's understanding of the content. Additionally, I teach students how to structure their responses to get the best possible marks in exams. I believe it is important for students to continue practice outside of lessons, and, to this end, I give tailor-made problems as homework.
