To me, the key to learning lies in two things; a comprehension of the question and an understanding of its applications. Often students lack the full picture given that they take formulae for granted without fully understanding their applications, leading to a loss of the former. Otherwise, they are not accustomed to algebraic manipulation or efficient problem-solving methods, leading to a loss of the latter. As a way to compensate for both, I help students develop a hands-on learning approach by providing a comprehensive overview of course content followed by detailed applications through common and typical exam-style questions. By demonstrating logical thought processes and problem-solving techniques, I wish to empower students with a confidence and strong grasp of course content.

Tutoring Experience

As an IB tutor, I have taught Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics to a demographic of mainly those in their 11th grade (HS junior year). I have taught students in Singapore, Malaysia, and Palestine who all averaged 7s in summative assessments for their respective subjects. As of current, I tutor at Beman Middle School in Connecticut on a volunteer basis. In addition to teaching conventional course content in mathematics and natural sciences, I am also open to supporting college application processes; I have acceptances to Wesleyan University (full-ride), NUS, and Imperial College London (MEng) and would love to help others achieve affordable education at their dream schools. My hard work and dedication are reflected in my accolades being a recipient of the Freeman Asian Scholarship (full-ride merit), Rise Finalist, Winner of the MYP IB Innovators' Grant (of USD 7,500), Student of the Year, and Scholar of the Year.
