About me
David is an HKIS alum and 3rd-year Public Policy student at Cornell University with investment banking experience in NYC, teaching humanities, social sciences, and standardized test prep across IB, AP, and IGCSE curricula. Born in Korea and raised in Hong Kong, he is passionate about helping students build confidence and develop critical thinking skills by adapting lessons to fit each student's unique learning style and goals. Beyond academics, he enjoys golf, traveling, and staying active, and loves connecting with students through shared interests.
Qualifications
David earned the AP Scholar Award with multiple 4s and 5s on AP exams and graduated high school with the Science Department Self-Motivated Learning Award. He currently maintains a 3.94 unweighted GPA at Cornell University, where he serves as a Dean's Scholar.
Experience
David has over a year of tutoring experience across English, History, Public Policy, and standardized test preparation, working with middle school and high school students in both one-on-one and small-group settings. He has a strong background in AP and honors coursework, helping students improve essay writing, reading comprehension, and study habits through individualized lesson plans tailored to each student's learning style.
