As mentioned before, I want students to understand the material more deeply and be able to utilize it in their daily lives. To equip this knowledge, in my tutoring sessions, I will conduct brief overviews of the current unit the student is in once they begin a new unit. As a tutor, I believe you are a student's safety net, so I will set the beginning of class as a time to go over material they do not understand and try to explain it in other ways. At the end of each tutoring session and throughout, I will conduct small quizzes to ensure the students not only understand the material but also use the method of testing to help them retain the information; this is scientifically proven to be the best study method to offset forgetting, so I will utilize it in my classes. Finally, at the end of units, we will review the unit and do test preparations. Ultimately, I will focus on course material that the student is struggling with so I can be a tool they can use outside of the classroom. Of course closer to the AP Exam, I can also help with exam preparations.

I believe that engaging with students on a personal level, building a deep connection, and using that familiarity to strive for growth is essential. The answers will always be there - but a student's willingness or motivation to learn might not. As such, I aim to assist all students from the formulaic, memorization aspect of education to the mental fluidity and accountability that one builds through their journey. I truly emphasise the success of the students above all else, as I believe that is the most important.

I'm committed to fostering a deep understanding of the material rather than relying on memorization. I emphasize developing healthy habits study early on, helping students avoid bad practices. My approach involves tailoring explanations to each student's interests—like relating physics concepts to sports they play—to make learning relatable and engaging. I maintain a patient and non-judgmental environment, ensuring students feel comfortable asking questions. Visual aids are a key part of my teaching, as they can clarify complex ideas. My sessions are interactive and adaptive, focusing on building confidence and a genuine grasp of the subject matter. I love the applied side of learning and incorporate real-world examples to make abstract concepts tangible and more useful. I also enjoy relating concepts together to help students see connections in the subject more easily, enhancing their overall understanding.

My way in teaching mathematics is to make sure that a solid foundation is set wherein all the basic concepts are clearly and properly understood by the students. In every session, I do a lot of brainstorming on how to simplify these abstract mathematical concepts into comprehensible portions. I use diagrams and practical examples so that such material will easily be understood. I also take into consideration that everybody learns differently, so I try to teach in such a way that will fit everybody's needs. My class is friendly; I make sure students know they can ask questions and think critically. It is in my approach and emphasis on active learning that various skills sets and confidences each and every student needs are attempted at being provided in order to make them comfortable doing far more difficult mathematical problems.

As a tutor, I believe every student has a unique approach to learning. Therefore, I strive to tailor my lessons to their individual needs and assist them with any assignments or practice problems they may encounter. When teaching a new concept, I often explain it by connecting it to something they have already learned and understood. Students find it easier to retain knowledge and grasp new material by making these connections.

I like to approach each student with a case-to-case basis mentality, adapting to however they learn best. Typically I will go through school work with them and answer any questions they have about the content. This will give me an idea of what we need to focus on throughout the class. We will go through practice sets together and I will give them more independence as they grasp the concepts. I try to give minimal homework on top of their already rigorous school work, usually giving one or two questions for them to try and answer between classes (varying depending on students' understanding and class frequency).

Through my extensive tutoring experience, I sharpened a capacity to tailor my teaching to each student. By establishing a human dimension which makes the tutoring more gratifying, I ensure ensure that my students never feel disoriented or alienated when they struggle to work through material. To that end, I use custom strategies to guarantee students grasp the reasoning behind the concepts, instead of force feeding them knowledge. I am also a firm believer in the importance of learning by doing, and I thus accompany sessions with exercises, paying attention to the methodology used by the student to work through them.

I specifically chose to be a TA for Advanced Algebra due to the challenge it gives me to explain complicated numbers and formulas in approachable ways for students with varying senses and strengths in numeracy and math. I understand that students have different levels of background knowledge, and I always quickly adapt to their level of knowledge and learning preferences. If possible, I always explain difficult concepts in numerous relatable ways and teach multiple approaches that students can use to tackle specifically difficult problems. Through being a swim instructor, I have adopted the teaching style of focusing on the small details in students' learning and making lessons fun and enjoyable.

In any given session, I am structured and cater to my client by carving out a detailed lesson plan before hand after consulting with my student on what he/she needs. In the session, I have visual aids and stop frequently to check for questions as well as pose questions to my students to make sure they understand the content. I like to pepper my lessons with interactive activities to keep students engaged in the material. After sessions, I provide worksheets and homework for practice. This way, my students can stay involved in the content and be prepared in advance for any exams that come their way.

In general, my aim is to make learning both interesting and rigorous for students so they can simultaneously achieve the results they want while also developing a curiosity for the subject. I enjoy getting to know my students as individuals and learners so I can support them to the best of my ability by tailoring my teaching approach to their unique needs. In a typical session, I will try to address any gaps in their current knowledge of the course material using both school-provided and private resources, before returning to reinforce those concepts at a later session.
