About Me
James is a recent HKIS graduate, now a freshman at Rice University, particularly passionate about the social sciences and helping students across AP humanities, STEM subjects, and standardized tests. He loves exploring how history, government, and economics shape our understanding of the world. Outside academics, he enjoys playing the French horn and journaling.
Academic Qualifications
James earned perfect 5s across all 9 AP exams, including AP Calculus AB, AP Chemistry, AP Economics, AP English Language and Literature, AP Statistics, AP US Government and Politics, AP US History, and AP World History. Additionally, he scored 1560 on the SAT and received AP Scholar with Distinction. His academic excellence was recognized with Head of School Commendation across multiple years.
Tutoring Experience
James has over 3 years of experience tutoring at HKIS Math and Science and Humanities Centers, where he taught high school curriculum across STEM and humanities subjects to peers. Additionally, he has worked with Stryv Academics teaching English, Mathematics, and Science to elementary, middle, and high school students. Through service work, he has also taught basic English to underprivileged children.
