About Me

James is a recent HKIS graduate, now a 1st-year student at the University of Oxford, teaching a wide range of AP subjects with a particular passion for the social sciences. He loves exploring how history, government, and economics shape our understanding of the world and helping students develop critical thinking skills across disciplines. In his free time, he enjoys playing the French horn and journaling.

Academic Qualifications

James earned perfect 5s across all 9 AP exams taken, including AP Calculus AB, AP Chemistry, AP Economics (Macro and Micro), AP English Language and Literature, AP Statistics, AP US Government and Politics, AP US History, and AP World History. Additionally, he scored 1560 on the SAT and received Head of School Commendation for multiple years. His academic excellence was further recognized with the AP Scholar with Distinction award.

Tutoring Experience

James has tutored at HKIS Math and Science and Humanities Centers for over 3 years, teaching high school curriculum across STEM and humanities subjects to peers. Additionally, he has taught English and Mathematics to elementary and middle school students with Stryv Academics. Through service work, he has also taught basic English to underprivileged children.
