University of Toronto
Hi! I'm a third-year at the University of Toronto majoring in English and Media Studies. I almost studied fine arts instead, and I still pursue these interests through various clubs in university, such as working as a creative manager for TEDxUofT as well as design editor at three of my school's campus newspapers. In my free time, I love staying active, whether that be going rock climbing, hiking, or spending time at the gym.

My tutoring approach is centered on ensuring students feel comfortable with the language itself. Cultivating a supportive environment encourages them to practice their skills more frequently, which is key to achieving greater proficiency and understanding. I believe that when students feel at ease with the language they are studying, it comes more naturally to them, and they pick up new content faster and happier. Through patient guidance, personalized feedback, and tailored teaching strategies, I aim to not only help students pass exams with literary analysis or comprehension, but also to express themselves fluently and confidently.

Tutoring Experience
I received the AP Scholar with Distinction and AP International Diploma awards from high school back in Hong Kong (AP Microeconomics - 5, AP Macroeconomics - 5, AP Studio Art - 5, AP Statistics - 5, AP Chemistry - 5, AP English Language and Composition - 5, AP English Literature - 5, AP Chinese - 5, AP Psychology - 5) and my experience as a teacher assistant for AP courses and a personal tutor outside of the classroom has made me very comfortable with the exam format. Because the essay questions for those assessments are quite similar to those in the SAT, I have taught testing strategies for the English portion as well, mostly focusing on efficiency and in-depth comprehension. Outside of standardized testing, I am also very open to teaching younger children, having taught students aged 6 through 13.
