Hong Kong International School
Hello! My name is Olive Padarin and I am a 17 year-old student at HKIS, currently in my third year of high school. I have been at HKIS for almost six years now and will graduate in May of 2026. I've previously lived in the Cayman Islands and was born in Sydney, Australia, so I love all things to do with the beach or ocean. I am an avid learner and am always stepping up to help friends and siblings with schoolwork, so I look forward to doing the same for you.

As mentioned before, I want students to understand the material more deeply and be able to utilize it in their daily lives. To equip this knowledge, in my tutoring sessions, I will conduct brief overviews of the current unit the student is in once they begin a new unit. As a tutor, I believe you are a student's safety net, so I will set the beginning of class as a time to go over material they do not understand and try to explain it in other ways. At the end of each tutoring session and throughout, I will conduct small quizzes to ensure the students not only understand the material but also use the method of testing to help them retain the information; this is scientifically proven to be the best study method to offset forgetting, so I will utilize it in my classes. Finally, at the end of units, we will review the unit and do test preparations. Ultimately, I will focus on course material that the student is struggling with so I can be a tool they can use outside of the classroom. Of course closer to the AP Exam, I can also help with exam preparations.

Tutoring Experience
Last year I achevied a 5 on the AP Exam for Human Geography, but I took so much more away from that course than just a score. My favourite thing about the class was how it helped me understand the world better and apply it to many other classes and other areas of life. I hope through my tutoring you will be able to not only score well, but more importantly gain a deep understanding of the course material.
