About Me
Kate is a senior at Hong Kong International School with a passion for both academics and the performing arts. As a saxophone player and leader in jazz and school band, she brings creativity and discipline to everything she does. She loves helping students find their voice both in writing and in life.
Academic Qualifications
Kate completed AP courses in World History, US Government, Comparative Government, Environmental Science, Psychology, and English Language, and is currently taking AP Economics, AP English Literature, and AP European History.
Tutoring Experience
Kate has experience as a Stryv tutor, teaching general math and English to middle and high school students. Additionally, she has assisted in teaching drama to children ages 5–8.
Tutoring Approach
Kate goes through school work and answers questions to identify focus areas, then works through practice questions while giving students more independence as they grasp concepts. To reinforce learning without overwhelming students, she assigns minimal homework—just 1–2 questions between classes—on top of existing school work.
