Experience
Jasmine has been a tutor at the HKIS Math and Science peer tutoring center since 10th grade, where she has hosted review sessions and created materials for AP Statistics, Honors Advanced Algebra, and Biology.
Teaching approach
Jasmine breaks down complex STEM concepts using real-world examples, diagrams, flowcharts, and step-by-step explanations, switching angles and trying different approaches when something isn't clicking. She centers math sessions around homework, working through practice problems together while encouraging students to try first before stepping in with hints when needed. Throughout lessons, she creates a supportive space where students feel safe to struggle and ask questions.
