My approach is centered around ensuring students have a solid foundation of basic concepts to build up skills through practice. To make complex concepts more accessible, I break them down into manageable parts to make it easier to identify gaps in the students' knowledge that need to be filled. For subjects like Economics, I often use visual aids, such as graphs and real-life examples, to help students understand abstract concepts and see how they apply in real-world scenarios. When teaching essay writing, I emphasize the importance of planning, having a clear structure and critical engagement with the material. I guide students through the process of organizing their thoughts, crafting coherent arguments, and evaluating different perspectives and limitations of various arguments. I offer regular essay practice and personalised feedback because I think that is the best way for students to gain confidence in expressing ideas in a clear and concise way. Regarding admissions counseling, my approach is rooted in understanding the student's underlying motivations and goals. I engage in in-depth discussions with students to uncover what drives their motivation for studying a particular subject to craft a genuine narrative that articulates why they are a strong fit for the university or program they are applying to. Prior to the personal statement process, I would  recommend supercurricular activities for students - such as virtual internships, online courses, leadership and volunteer opportunities. I then offer guidance on how to best demonstrate students’ interest in chosen subject areas and their strengths through these experiences. My goal is to support students in presenting an authentic and well-rounded application that enables students to achieve their personal goals of where they want to be in the future.

Tutoring Experience

As the coordinator of the mentorship program for King’s Women in Law, I have developed a strong understanding of the various types of support students need throughout their academic and career journeys. I specialize in helping students master key concepts and structure essays in Economics, Geography, and English, while also offering support in other subjects like Math. In addition, I am well-versed in the UCAS application process, and have assisted students in crafting compelling personal statements and navigating the university application process. My aim is to provide comprehensive support that not only helps students achieve academic success but also be empowered in achieving their wider educational and career goals.
