Hong Kong International School
Hi! I'm Martin, and I am currently in my last year in high school at Hong Kong International School. I am originally from Copenhagen, Denmark, and Beijing, China, but I have lived in Hong Kong for the last 9 years. I am very passionate about politics, history, and international relations. Furthermore, I am the leader of several clubs/organisations that relate to these subjects in and out of school. Some of my other interests include playing rugby at the HKIS varsity team and HKFC U18 squad, as well as surfing and hiking. My biggest goal at Levitate is to share my knowledge and help as many students as possible!

From someone who has used many tutors in their life, both ones that were useful and those that were not, the most important thing I have learned is to have each session be engaging, and the best way to make classes exciting and engaging is to keep up with the student's interest, needs and wants. Humour and motivation are a big part of making that successful. I firmly believe that each student learns differently, and one of my main goals is to identify what type of learning suits a particular student. Another important aspect for me is building trust between the student and the tutor since trust plays a significant role in whether students are appropriately engaged. A typical session for me is going through the students homework and classwork. Also to make sure to properly explain and answer any questions pointed towards me.

Tutoring Experience
I am experienced with tutoring many of my friends and some family members on humanities-related topics such as history, politics, etc. The curriculums I am most familiar with teaching are the overall HKIS curriculum and the AP curriculum, especially the courses AP Government and Politics (Comparative & U.S) and AP Art History. Besides tutoring HKIS-related subjects, I have taught both English and history to diverse groups of younger children, ranging from monks to children using English as a second language.
