About me
Claire is a senior at Hong Kong International School with a lifelong connection to the school community, teaching humanities and science subjects including AP Psychology, AP English, and AP Environmental Science. She loves both humanities and science, finding joy in exploring diverse ways of understanding the world and helping students develop critical thinking skills. Outside the classroom, she is a competitive swimmer who enjoys cooking, playing piano, and exploring new restaurants around Hong Kong.
Qualifications
Claire consistently achieved A's in humanities during grades 9 and 10 while maintaining a high GPA alongside approximately 20 hours per week of sports commitments. She is currently enrolled in AP English Language, AP Psychology, and AP Chemistry.
Experience
Claire has served as a Teaching Assistant for Humanities 1, a Grade 9 course at HKIS, where she creates quizzes, facilitates discussions, and prepares materials. Additionally, she has informally tutored neighborhood students in English and science.
Teaching approach
Claire breaks hard concepts into simpler bites using easier terms or memorable examples, relating new information to each student's prior knowledge. To support this, she helps students find multiple study methods tailored to them individually.
