Mahi is a third-year Environmental Science student at UCLA exploring the intersection between environment and entrepreneurship. She is passionate about biology, math, economics, and understanding the "why" behind what we learn, with interests spanning literature, policy, and the social sciences. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, exploring L.A. food culture, and sewing.
Mahi graduated with 42/45 in the IB Diploma, studying Biology HL, Economics HL, and Mathematics AA SL alongside Visual Art, English Literature, and German. She earned 11 A*s in her IGCSEs, including Biology, Economics, English Literature, and Mathematics (along with Further Pure Mathematics). Currently, she serves as a Dean's List scholar at UCLA and received the High School Academic Excellence Award.
Mahi has tutored middle and high school students in mathematics, biology, and economics, with additional experience as a teaching assistant for elementary students over 2 years teaching English literature, reading, and writing. She has also served as a volunteer mentor for introductory biology courses at university and provides guidance on university applications, offering feedback and proofreading for personal statements and essays.
Mahi builds strong understanding of core concepts so students can confidently apply them in any context. She teaches interactively, encouraging questions, critical thinking, and working through problems together.
