Hong Kong International School
Hello! My name is Jason Ou and I'm interested in helping alleviate the pressures of school that everyone faces. I currently go to Hong Kong International School as a Senior so I truly understand the struggles of high school and certain ways to reduce the academic stress of school. When I'm not tutoring, you can find me playing tennis, reading a good book, or engaging in a game of chess. I believe that learning should be both an enjoyable and efficient process, and I strive to create a welcoming environment for everyone I tutor. I look forward to work with you!

As someone who has experienced various personal struggles with studying, something that greatly helped me in all of my high school courses would be personalized tutoring which is the tutoring approach that I also take. This would include creating lesson plans that are specifically customized the needs of each student. Additionally, I always stress the significance of going through previous mistakes to reinforce the understanding for certain concepts that may be lacking. For a typical tutoring session, I would prefer to start the session off with a large chunk of time dedicated to learning new content while leaving a bit of time dedicated to fixing mistakes and strengthening certain things that need a bit more help. With this approach, I believe that I can not only give students a head start on the materials that will eventually be taught in school, but also ensure that any significant weakness can be fixed, resulting in an enjoyable and efficient tutoring process.

Tutoring Experience
I am currently a teaching assistant for AP Economics at my high school so I have developed a solid understanding of the content that is being taught within my classes, as well as methods to teach each subject efficiently. Additionally, I have excelled in certain extracurricular activities, such as the International Economics Olympiad where I ranked 3rd within Hong Kong and 27th internationally out of over 400,000 participants. Moreover, I have participated in other economics competitions such as the National Economics Challenge where I ranked 6th in terms of Microeconomics out of over 100,000 participants. In addition to this, I have done well on all of my standardized AP tests for all the subjects that I'm teaching. Lastly, by participant and volunteering with certain clubs and organizations, I have gained experience with tutoring individuals of all ages, so I believe that I am equipped with both the knowledge, skills and experience necessary to be a qualified tutor.
