Isabelle

Isabelle graduated with a 44/45 in the IB Diploma and a 99% overall OSSD, earning multiple academic awards in English (x4), Global Politics (x2), and History. Her excellence in writing has been recognized through prizes including the HKU Life Story Prize, the Yamabuki Prize, and the John Locke Institute Global Essay Competition. Most recently, she received the Spirit of Canada Award from the Consulate General of Canada in Hong Kong and Macao for her writing and commitment to service.

Isabelle has taught English, History, and Global Politics to students aged 6-18, specializing in MYP and IB close analysis and essay writing across Literature, Language and Literature, History, and Global Politics courses. As a tutor, she has helped middle and high school students raise scores in literature and humanities while also supporting younger students in phonics and foundational English. Currently, she is completing a 120-hour TEFL certification to further enhance her teaching skills.

Isabelle believes the best learning occurs when lessons are personalized and confidence-building, blending multimedia methods with relevant exam strategies to develop skills for long-term success. After identifying each student's strengths and areas for growth, she designs targeted sessions focused on their specific needs and goals. Through scaffolded learning, regular feedback, and progress tracking, she helps students build both skills and self-assurance while creating a supportive space where learners think independently, engage actively, and achieve measurable results.
