About Me

Hi! My name is Isabelle and I'm currently on a gap year after graduating from Hong Kong International School in the class of 2024.  I'm extremely passionate about teaching, and have years of experience tutoring as well as professional teaching experience through TA'ing at HKIS summer camps.  In my free time, I love ANYTHING media (music, books, movies), crocheting, and taking long walks!

Academic Qualifications

I've engaged myself in 10 AP courses during my time in high school (U.S. Gov, Comp Sci, APUSH, World History, Psychology, Environmental Science, Biology, Statistics, English Language, and English Literature), scoring high in all of them. Additionally, during my gap year I involved myself in research at HKU's school of biological sciences, looking at ostracods under professor Yasuhara's lab.

Tutoring Experience

I specialize in tutoring both humanities and STEM subjects, mainly in younger age groups! I have extensive experience in teaching, engaging myself in HKIS's summer discovery program as a teaching assistant for young kids, and also at HKIS' Church of All Nations camp, assisting various ages! I've grown up with younger siblings who I've always been tutoring through the years, and through all of my experience teaching I've only grown to love it more.

Tutoring Approach

As a tutor, I believe in building a strong interpersonal connection with my clients, fostering a open environment where they feel comfortable in order to foster the most optimal learning environment.  Different students learn in different ways, and as a tutor, I value catering to each person's specific needs and helping them have the most enjoyable experience possible, while also gaining as much as possible from each lesson!
