Hi there! I'm Claire and I am a junior at HKIS, and I tutor mainly Chinese (both simplified and traditional) here at Levitate and at HKIS. Other than Chinese, I LOVE learning languages and I am currently learning Spanish and Japanese :) Some things I like are jazzy-lo fi music, watching anime, and playing Mario party with my friends.

I am a strong believer in immersive learning; learning languages is hard, and I feel it when learning Japanese and Spanish. I always provide sufficient emotional support to my students, encouraging them to not be afraid to try new things during classes. For younger students, I always try to play some games with them, speaking ONLY Chinese after helping them with school work; this is always a great practice to enhance student's conversational skills and interpreting skills. Sometimes children tend to lack interest in the language and are solely seeking help for course completion, depending on the client's expectations and goals, I customize the course intensity along with how much effort I have to put into creative matters in sessions or academic support.

Tutoring Experience
I have been a leader of HKIS's Chinese Tutoring Center since grade 10 and have had experiences tutoring both high school students and primary school students, giving me several experiences and styles in tutoring different age levels. I have studied in a local school for over 7 years and have received a 5 on the AP Chinese test, making me a qualified Chinese tutor for all levels, both traditional and simplified. In my previous tutoring experiences, I have helped students get a 5 on their AP Chinese exams and also an A in class.
