Chloe is a freshman at Columbia University with an intended major in Environmental Engineering, driven by her curiosity about nature and the natural sciences. Her passion for understanding the environment extends beyond the classroom as an advanced open water scuba diver. In her free time, she loves going to the beach and reading science fiction novels.
Chloe graduated with a 3.9/4.0 GPA from HKIS (Class of 2025) and scored 1560 on the SAT (800 Math), earning 5s in AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Environmental Science, AP English Language & Composition, and AP English Literature. Her excellence in the sciences she teaches has been recognized with Global Gold in the British Biology Olympiad (2024), Silver in the UK Chemistry Olympiad (2024), and Distinction in the Avogadro Exam (Top 10% in Hong Kong). Additionally, she earned a Gold Medal in the Harvard International Review Academic Writing Contest (2023) and received Honorable Mention in the USA Biolympiad Open Exam.
Chloe was a peer tutor at HKIS Math and Science Center from 10th to 12th grade, specializing in Honors Chemistry and Honors Biology. Throughout this time, she worked with middle school to high school students and also tutored family friends in Algebra and Humanities.
Chloe equips students with test-taking and problem-solving skills while helping them decipher teacher expectations and present work for maximum academic impact. Sessions move from foundational understanding to strategic application, and she tries different teaching styles until finding what works best for each student.
