About me
Beatrice is a sophomore at Tufts University majoring in biochemistry on the Pre-Med track, teaching AP sciences, math, psychology, and Mandarin to high school students. She loves the creative process both in scientific problem-solving and as an avid baker who enjoys whipping up treats. Beyond academics, she is passionate about gymnastics, golfing, and skiing.
Qualifications
Beatrice earned perfect 5s across seven AP exams, including AP Chemistry, AP Biology, AP Environmental Science, AP Calculus AB, AP Psychology, and AP Chinese Language and Culture. Her excellence in chemistry was further demonstrated through High Distinction awards in both the ACS Chemistry Olympiad and Chem 13 Olympiad, placing her in the top 5 in Hong Kong for each competition. Additionally, she scored 1550 (99th percentile) on the SAT and maintains a 3.97 GPA in her freshman year at Tufts University.
Experience
Beatrice has been a Math tutor for middle and high school students at Stryv since 2022, also serving as Teaching Assistant for AP Chemistry at HKIS. Beyond her core tutoring work, she has tutored students from grades 1-6 through the American Club's Homework Club and worked with the Chinese Tutoring Center at HKIS. Additionally, she serves as Director of Mentorship at Tufts Bio Research Club, supporting students in biological research.
Teaching approach
Beatrice uses interactive activities, real-world examples, and collaborative problem-solving to engage students, incorporating visual aids and kinesthetic exercises for some while breaking down concepts into manageable steps for others. To personalize learning further, she incorporates student interests and hobbies into lessons and applies learning psychology principles to tailor her methods to each individual.
