Anika is a third-year Molecular and Cell Biology student at UC San Diego conducting research in molecular mechanisms of neurodegeneration. She is passionate about learning and exploring diverse topics across sciences and humanities, particularly literature and reading. In her free time, she enjoys rock climbing, going to the beach, listening to music, and crocheting.
Anika earned the AP Scholar with Distinction Award with top scores across multiple AP exams, including AP Biology, Chemistry, and both AP English Literature and Language. She currently serves as a university honors student at UC San Diego.
Anika has over 2 years of experience as a Stryv tutor working with middle and high school students across various subjects, including AP Biology, English, Chemistry, and Mathematics. At the university level, she has served as a TA for upper division cell biology and volunteers as a tutor for advanced biology courses, bringing depth to her AP and honors-level science instruction. Additionally, she has taught biology in test-preparation settings and previously served as a Humanities TA for 9th grade students.
Anika structures lessons specifically to client needs, preferring to work through problem sets and ask questions over lecturing. She focuses on practice over memorization for real-world application, spending extra time on problems to ensure students can apply concepts in different contexts.
