About me
Anika is a recent UC San Diego graduate with a B.S. in Molecular and Cell Biology and a minor in Chemistry, now conducting pancreatic cancer research at Weill Cornell Medicine while teaching AP sciences and English. She is passionate about learning and exploring diverse topics across sciences and humanities, particularly literature and reading. In her free time, she enjoys rock climbing, going to the beach, listening to music, and crocheting.
Qualifications
Anika graduated Cum Laude and with Provost Honors, earning perfect 5s on seven AP exams including AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP English Language, and AP English Literature. Additionally, she received a research grant in Science and Engineering in recognition of her academic excellence.
Experience
Anika has over 3 years of experience as a Stryv tutor working with middle and high school students across various subjects, including on-level, honors, and AP courses. She has taught biology in test-preparation settings and served as a TA for a 9th grade Humanities course. Additionally, she has experience as a volunteer tutor and TA for upper division biology courses at the university level, including cell biology.
Teaching approach
Anika structures lessons specifically to client needs, preferring to work through problem sets and ask questions over lecturing. She focuses on practice over memorization for real-world application, spending extra time on problems to ensure students can apply them in different contexts and hone in on areas of challenge.
