About me
Alisha is a second-year Finance and Economics student at the University of Toronto and student consultant at Juvenate Consulting, teaching IB and IGCSE subjects across English, Math, Economics, and sciences. She believes creativity enables adaptable thinking from different perspectives, bringing this approach to both her consulting work and tutoring. Outside academics, she explores various creative mediums including drawing, crocheting, sewing, photography, and film.
Qualifications
Alisha graduated with 43/45 in the IB Diploma (Class of 2024) and earned 10 A*s in her IGCSEs. She currently serves as a Dean's List Scholar at the University of Toronto with a UofT merit scholarship. In recognition of her academic excellence, she has received the Academic Exhibition Award (UK) and multiple Academic Achievement Awards for Excellence in Exams.
Experience
Alisha has tutored GCSE and IB level students in Economics and essay writing, while also working with university peers on essay framework and refinement. Throughout her teaching experience, she has worked with HK-based non-profits supporting underprivileged students and mentored students ages 6–13. Additionally, she served as a teacher's assistant at GSIS primary school for crochet and knitting ECA.
Teaching approach
Alisha encourages active participation through engaging conversations while using past papers and subject exercises for hands-on practice. She guides students to think critically through collaboration and active problem-solving, prioritizing concept understanding combined with test-taking strategies. Throughout lessons, she places heavy emphasis on targeted practice to ensure thorough exam preparation.
